Oxford Public School is a free school in Ramanagara, Karnataka, founded by C.N.N. Trust and co-run by SWARI Foundation. Oxford Public School is dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged children in the region. Our mission is to create a future where every child has access to education and the opportunity to succeed in life. Currently, our school has around 160 students studying from Kindergarten to 10 standard in English medium. We believe that education is the key to unlocking a child's full potential and empowering them to create a better future for themselves and their communities.

Thank you for considering a donation to Oxford Public School. Your support can make a significant impact on the lives of underprivileged children who would otherwise not have access to quality education.

S.W.A.R.I WELCOMES YOU

At Swari, we work with communities of Artisans who are known for the magic they bring through their work, since times immemorial, yet are fighting for existence in the current times. We work to make their work relevant to the needs of people at this point in time. From modern designs, newer machines to community wellbeing and lesser socio-economic problems. Swari takes a holistic approach to preserve and promote the art, that the communities in Ramanagara and Channapatna have been known for.
We are Silk & Wood Arts Research Institute.

KALI

Swari brings together everyone who cares about women empowerment through KALI. Through events under this project, we aim to also break the harmful stereotypes against women in the society about what women can do and should do.

This year we take inspiration from the life and work of Fatima Sheikh, who is widely known as the first Muslim teacher of India.

Taking her example, we invite women to participate in this all women led feast and community meal in Channapatna where we honour women leaders, students, teachers and all key members of the community who contribute tirelessly to develop their families and the larger community.

WORK-ABLE

Disability is experienced at multiple levels - individual, relational, infrastructural, societal and global. Its impact can be seen in multiple aspects of our life - physical, emotional, socio-economic, political and spiritual. Mental health issues affect us all and awareness towards the same is crucial in the growth of the individual and the society.

We at Team SWARI worked on a disability related awareness and sensitization event on Dec 4th 2021, Saturday, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The event and discussion was a celebration of neuro diversity and a confluence of diverse perspectives on collective and inclusive development.

TRIANGLE OF HAPPINESS

Triangle of Happiness is a campaign where products made by SWARI artisans are showcased for sales and customers can select among an amazing collection of products made by them. They will also be supporting a person with disability who is an Affiliate partner with SWARI who will earn a commission for every sale made through them. This way, the customer, the artisan and the person with disability enter into a mutually beneficial ecosystem. We call this the Triangle of Happiness.

This opportunity is available both online and offline.

LANGAR KITCHEN

We set up the SWARI's Langar Kitchen in a school (Tippu Cambridge School) premises in Ramanagara. We cooked in extremely hygienic conditions and gave out over 300 meals a day, as we didn't want to have a maximum cap of meals that we could deliver per day. We have currently paused this project, but we'll definitely get back soon.

ABOUT

Swari (silk and wood arts research institute) is a non profit organization based in Ramnagara, Karnataka, India. It works to improve the living conditions of silk and wood artisans in Ramnagara and Channapatna.

We take the approach of community development and rehabilitation. Given the pandemic and lockdown happening across the country and the world,   SWARI is empowering the community of woodworkers to produce and distribute locally produced handicrafts in an environmentally sustainable manner.

It recognizes that community has to support education, health and capacity building of children and women through workshops and learning centers, financial aid, scholarships, and documentation.

We believe that when the community participates in their own growth, development becomes inclusive and democratic.
